To pursue is nothing;
To persever is something;
To pursue and persever is everything.
That’s what i told myself over the past months.
To pursue means setting a goal. It may not be mighty and magnificent , but must be practical and progressive. However, no goal can assure anyone sucess , that’s why it is called “nothing”. You want a great score, you have to do great job. You have to fight troubles and hardship. You have to be persevered on what you are pursuing all along the way, because that’s what makes everything you want possible.
As to Global Ielts Training School, i think it is to IELTS candidates what an arsenal is to soldiers. The school arms students with skills and methods and above all, mental readiness, so we are changed into confident and prepared fighters before the show time. Considering what i have learnt here, i send from my heart thanks to Geng, Sam, Mark, Olga, Allen, Sebrina and Mei:I really appreciate every word and thought you delivered in class. Moreover, i owe a lot to Christ, who taught me how to get an explicit point of view and state my ideas in a logical way.
Specifically on the four parts of IELTS test, i would like to share with you some of my experience.
Listening : make sure that you practice for at least 30minutes everyday. It’s a good way to keep you familiar with this language. Besides, I like listening materials that Geng recommended, and i do think the core vocabularies she collected are helpful. So have a try.
Reading: concentration is critical here. You need to focus on the article or you are wasting time. Try not to bring in personal opinions, especially in T/F/NG.
Wrinting : standpoint plus statement. First get a clear point about the topic and then support it with reason and logic. You’d better also pay attention to grammar and vocabulary, because a wise choice of words and sentence pattens may bring you more advantages than you image.( I think Allen does have a diversity of “weapons” here to change ordionary expressions to extraordinary ones,haha....)
Speaking: speak clearer and more. All the teachers here have advised us to get good preparation on some hot topics(like “Art”, which was just my topic on 1.17IELTS Test). By the way i enjoyed atmosphere on speaking classes and i see it as a good opportunity to rebuild one’s confidence.
All roads lead to Rome, and the above is just about my path towards that destination. But i do hope that i can be some help to whoever has passion and patience towards his or her dreams. Let’s have a little faith to be the change we want to see in our future.
